Tabernacle Baptist Church, in partnership with the Central Virginia Food Bank, provided 2,476 bags of groceries weighing a total of 41,000 pounds (almost 22 tons). The recipients of this ministry represent over six-hundred and fifty families, the majority living in 23220 and 23221, and one hundred and ten homeless neighbors. In 2011, nineteen volunteers gave over 2,100 hours of their time to make this ministry possible.
Join us any Thursday from 1:30-3 p.m to experience this phenomenal ministry in a spirit of respect, dignity, and grace.

Summary: Volunteers are needed any Thursday, 1-3:00 p.m. in the Community Room (basement level of main building). The Food Pantry will be open from 1:30-3pm for CSFP box distribution. The Clothes Closet is no longer open on Thursdays, but will be open on the first Saturday morning of each month. Please Note: we are currently only able to distribute boxes to previously registered seniors. If you would like to register for the program, we can register you to begin receiving boxes in February., We need volunteers for the following roles: greeters, snacks/water station, intake (laptop needed), food distribution, floaters, and essentials distribution.
